SEASON II (Episode 1)
THE GREAT CLAUSE
Thousands of years ago, an unwanted personality approached the gate of Heaven. He was questioned by the Arch angel, ‘Lucifer, what do you want here.’ The manner and swiftness of his reply showed that he meant business, ‘I am here to see God…’
‘See God? Are you out of your mind? After all you did to Job you still have the guts to come back here.’ The Archangel challenged him."
‘Job proved himself right in the sight of God. I tried all I could to make him lose his faith, but to no avail. Job wouldn’t be shaken. There isn’t any other man who could do what Job did.’
‘So you are here to take permission to torment him again.’ The archangel quizzed.
‘No no no, not at all. I’m done with Job. I want permission to test the self acclaimed lovers of God with only a fragment measure of Job’s affliction and see how they would respond. Because I still maintain my lifelong stand – human beings only appreciate God when the going is good and not when things are bad.
The Archangel asked Lucifer to remain at the gate while he entered to consult God about his proposal. The Archangel would finally return back with this message, ‘Lucifer, your permission is granted.
Tade woke up from what looked like an endless night sleep. ‘So I’ve been dreaming?’ he asked himself. ‘What could this fierce dream mean?’ Then his eyes gazed at his bedside clock which read 7:30am and considering that he is to resume work by 8.00am, he screamed, ‘Oh my God! I’m late for work.
Tade quickly brushed his teeth, splashed some water on his face, dried himself and zoomed off to work. He got to work fifteen minutes after the regular time and immediately he was summoned to the Managing Director’s office.
‘Mr. Tade, what’s the time?’
‘Yes Sir, I jammed into….’
‘No explanation. Just answer me!’ The MD barked.
‘8:17 Sir!’
‘I don’t have to say anything. Just take this letter.’ He gave him an envelope.
Reading from the envelope, Tade was amazed at what he saw. ‘Sir, this is a sack letter! What have I done?
‘So you want me to explain myself to you? Get out of my office before I call security!’ The MD remained serious.
With an ocean of tears swimming to his eyes, Tade left the office. When he got home he felt the urge to cry to God and complain. How could he have lost his job that easily after all the years he spent in suffering looking for work, but the dream he had earlier flashed across his mind. No, he won’t complain. He would rather praise God. He went on his knees and started worshipping God with various songs. Forty minutes into the worship he heard a knock on the door. He went to the door and to his surprise he saw someone he has never met before. ‘Are you Mr. Tade Jacobs?’ asked the stranger inquisitively.
‘Yes I am.’ Tade replied. ‘Come on in.’ He ushered the stranger in and beckoned him to sit. ‘Please Sir what can I do for you?’
‘My name is Frank Ovrehboteh, the Head of recruitment at the Pinnacle Investment Company. Mr Tade, I have good news for you – you have been appointed as our Regional Manager. And you are to resume work ASAP.’ He handed a large brown envelope to Tade. ‘This is your appointed letter. It also contains the details of your remuneration, the key for an official car and the documents of an official house.’
Tade couldn’t believe what’s happening. It was as if he was dreaming. He remained speechless as he watched his visitors leave. He looked at the door again, then his attention switched to the envelope in his hand and with a heart full of joy he continued his worship session…
Dear friends, no matter what you might be passing through, DEVELOP AN ATTITUDE OF PRAISE. Only praise can take you out of difficult situations as a victor.
