THE MARVELS OF GRACE
SEASON III (Episode 5)
THE LADY IN THE RED DRESS
I am an ardent fan of movies especially Hollywood movies although I tend to derive a spiritual side to every movie I watch. Science Fiction is arguably my favourite type of movies and “The Matrix” is one of my favourite movies of all time. The plot was about a character known as Neo, the pre destined messiah of Zion, a habitat of a group of programs (softwares) in the computer world which was being threatened by a superior group of Agents. The iiiiiiAgents were sent by the race of machines to capture the human race through the outright subjugation of their minds. So for Zion, a program written for the total emancipation of the human race to be preserved, Neo had to be found out, trained and...
Fast forward to the training mode, Neo was taken out by Morpheus, the leader of Zion to the streets of an artificial reality, an abode of the war between the Agents and the Zionists known as the Matrix. Neo was to learn how to stay focused and be concentrated among the great crowd of people because Agent Smith, the leader of the Agents, who had the power to transform anybody to his image, could show up at any time to wreck havoc. Neo was so focused until suddenly a figure appeared from far off. She was a tall and very beautiful lady dressed in a vibrant red gown. She was totally different from every other person on the street and she eventually caught Neo’s attention. Neo was so captivated by this lady in the red dress that he lost concentration and everyone else on the street looked as dim as shadows to him. His only focus was on the lady and... before he knew it the lady was transformed into Agent Smith pointing a pistol at his head.
Now this is what I learnt from this scene: the lady in the red dress was a program of distraction assigned to terminate the heroic purpose of Neo in saving Zion from inevitable extinction and unfortunately Neo fell for the bait. Agents of distraction always look captivating and glittering to the human soul and if care is not taken one might not escape from it lures. So my friend, like Neo, you are a saviour of your generation, God has created you for a specific purpose in your family, society and the world. So what can distract you from fulfilling your purpose in life? Is it that sin of fornication or adultery that you feel you can’t do without? Is it that drunkenness that has taken over your life? Is it covetousness and evil greed for money? Or are they the pleasant pleasures of this world? All these may be enjoyable to you, but like the lady in the red dress they are meant to destroy you. Watch out for that secret sin. Watch Out! Your destiny is bigger than that sin. Don’t jeopardise your destiny because of sin.
Abstain from the distractions of this world. Abstain from sin. Preserve your purpose – preserve your generation.
Peace!
