Welcome to 02/12 and the DECEITFULNESS OF SIN that must be avoided is in Exo.02/12-
"And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand" Moses through anger killed an Egyptian and thought he could cover up his sin by covering up the dead man with sand. But his ignoble acts were later uncovered and that forced him into self exile for forty years-"Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well" vs 15 The deceitfulness of sin makes us feel that it can be covered for long forgetting that God will surely uncover it-"Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do" Heb.4:13 Every unconfessed sin will deny you your desired prosperity-"He that covereth his sins shall not prosper" Prov.28:13a Every confessed sin will attract divine mercy to cover up your mess-"but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy" Prov.28:13b There are dire consequences when you cover up your sins like-:
1.Adam who incur the wrath of God, curses and was excommunicated from his exotic abode in Eden-"If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom" Job 31:33 2.Achan was killed along his whole household for covering up his sin of covetousness-"And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the Lord shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones" Judg.7:25 3.Gehazi was plagued with generational leprosy and denied th chance to succeed Elisha as the mighty prophet of Israel-"The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow" 2Ki.5:27 4.David also incurred God's wrath after covering up his adulterous affair with Bathsheba and the murdering of her husband-"Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. ... For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun" 2Sam.12:10-12 You may cover up your sins but you can't cover up the consequences.
